The US crop in the Pacific Northwest was relatively flat in 2022. Mexico which is primarily utilized for the US fresh market was down due to extreme heat. There was a large amount in US freezers coming into the 2022 harvest. This put pressure on pricing in the Pacific Northwest for raw processing fruit. Also, many processors were reluctant to buy raw fruit in a declining market. The market has continued to see downside pricing pressure as European demand has been off and European processors significantly lowered prices to growers. We can currently offer import raspberry concentrate and puree at very attractive pricing delivered to the East and West Coast compared to the domestic market.
